Sumitomo Electric's 3-in-OneTM High Temperature
Superconducting (HTS)
Cable proved its viability in a groundbreaking demonstration in Japan.
Together with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and the Central
Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI), Sumitomo Electric
successfully completed a long-term demonstration test of a three-core,
high-temperature, long-length superconducting cable. The conducted test
conclusively verifed the cable's performance.
