| Contact Pin Tip Configurations |
| Because of the highly accurate manufacturing method, a variety of tips can be designed for the pin to accommodate your specific application. The Pogo Type Tips seen to the right are just and example. Currently, our designers are working on a BGA scrub type tip.
Because Sumitomo Electric Industries also does Research and Development on Tooling Tips, a simulator was used to develop a "clean free" tip for scrub applications in cantilever pins. Using FEM and CAE analysis, it was found that debris adhesion occured mainly on the back scrub of the tip. By altering the shape of the tip, debris adhesion can dramatically be reduced, resulting in a tip that does not need to be cleaned to maintain electrical functionality.
